Roller coaster

The past few weeks have been a roller coaster ride for me. Today, I had to bid goodbye to one of my student as she will be attending regular kindergarten from July on wards. This means that I wouldn't be able to see my princess in the morning and look forward to her chirpy good morning Lynn! Then again, I was so proud of how much my princess has grown since I first met her back in February. Although I only spent approximately 4 months with her, but my little princess left such a huge impact within me. Her sunshine personality makes the environment such a positive environment to be in. Then again, all my children comes with different characteristics which contributed to the positivity at the centre I currently work in. I will definitely miss her and I am looking forward to see her thrive in the environment that she's place in.

I also have to bid goodbye to another student of mine soon. I've gotten use to needing to clean him up and his tantrums and his mood swings. Then again, most of my students have bad days sometimes or some weeks. Session with him was rather draining sometimes. But personally, I find it rewarding if I managed to complete the session smoothly without much fuss. Or if I find my kid learning something from my session.

Anyway, recently someone asked me about who was the most interesting person I've met recently. I think about my colleagues at work for a bit then I ponder more about my students as I spent most of my time with them since I've completed my Bachelor Degree program. So guess what? I talked about one of my student. I could talk about all my students if someone is interested to know about them. They are the most interesting individuals that I've ever met.

I am so stoked for our movie outing tomorrow! :)

Actions and Words

"Actions may speak louder than words. But sometimes, we still have to hear the words and see the actions at the same time. Because words without actions are empty and actions without words are confusing."

Father's Day

So today is Daddy's Day. It's only fair if I come out with a post for my dad since I had one for my mom on Mummy's Day.

I am more of a Mummy's girl than a Daddy's girl. My high school girlfriends may assume that I am a Daddy's girl because dad is constantly around. Plus, it's so obvious that he is incredibly protective towards us to the extend he likes to control what we do. Anyway, before I have the capability to drive myself to places, my dad was the one who drove me everywhere and pick me up from anywhere. He was the one who cooks for us most of the time and he still cooks for us till today. He learnt how to cook proper meals for us since we are all picky eaters and he makes a mean chicken curry and fish curry :) But that's about it. I usually only turn to mom if I need advice in something important to me like school stuff, career, and so forth since it's really hard to talk to my dad about things.

He was a very hot tempered person who likes to jump into conclusion and it's not a pleasant one. It makes it tough to rationalize with him. Despite that, he's a good dad. More of a family man since he always puts his family first. I learnt quite a lot from dad as I grew up; mainly what to look for in my partner (Or not to look for) and mostly I have to work towards self reliance.

Anyway, to end this post..Happy Father's Day, Dad. Everyday is Daddy's day as long as your daughters and son try not get on your nerves :P I know my dad is lucky to have a daughter like me. No doubt about that :)

Burgertory @ SS15

To celebrate the end of our week,
We had dinner at Burgertory (SS15, located right above Guardian pharmacy).
I like the concept of the burger joint..

I got the swine bacon burger..

They ran out of mozzarella sticks so I got the cheesy meatballs instead.
It was goooooddd..
I absolutely love their fry combo (the ones above).
The portion was just right for me..
I like the sauce that they managed to come out with for us to dip our fried stuff into it.
Close up pic of my pork burger.
Their patty is juicy and thick.
Coated with cheese too!:)
Jyun had the legendary pork burger..
He likes his burger very much.
He had quite alot of burgers for this week but he said the visit was worth it (:

I'll definitely go back to try their other selection of pork burgers and get more of their fry combo..
Maybe that time they will still have their mozzarella cheese sticks :)

Monday..
Ugh.
The feeling of dread.
What an unpleasant feeling..

Me you cartoons and comfort food

It was just me, you, cartoons, and comfort food today.
The simplicity of it makes this weekend a perfect ending to a rather straining week for a trachle like me.
As much as I love hanging out at good coffee joints and hunting for amazing food,
Sometimes it's nice to stay in and just laze around with each other's company.

PS: Thanks for the sweet treat :D

Leonardo's Dining Room & Wine Loft and Flashbacks

It was Jyun's birthday.
Managed to make a reservation to dine at Leonardo's Dining Room & Wine Loft.
The place was fully booked when we got there.
We were there early since we wanted to take our time eating and digesting our dinner and perhaps hang out in one of our favourite cafe after that:)
(notice how empty the place was in the pic below)
I love the ambiance in the restaurant.
We usually dine in place with good food and environment,
But once a while we like to dine in somewhere nicer and more intimate.
Jyun mentioned to me once that he wanted to try the food here,
And I thought it'll be great if I could make it happen for us on his birthday.

I like the service there.
The waitress who served us was really nice and friendly.
In fact, her accent reminded me of my supervisor.
Told Jyun about it and we both had a good laugh about it since he was trying to figure out who has the same accent.
The complimentary bread smells so good.

It was rather soft inside and I think it was homemade too..

To wash down our food, I got us the chamomile tea.
Almost wanted to get the juice but decided against it.
The tea went rather well with our order.
We got the crispy bacon lollippops

It was absolutely yummy.
Crispy, juicy, and oh so sinfully good.
It goes really well with their spicy pineapple sauce too.
I like this dish very much.
Salivating right now as I think about how it tasted like.
*Drools*

Leonardo's signature pork knuckle.
There's bacon bits too!
And the skin was so so sooooo crispy. It's like eating keropok.
The meat was tender and juicy.
Very flavourful although rather salty (the bacon was salty).
I had two bad experience eating pork knuckles at one of the restaurant at the Curve and Sunway Pyramid.
This was one of the good ones that I've had.
Elcerdo's pork knuckles were absolutely yummy but this one is quite good too.
Portion wise it was enough for both Jyun and I.
We were told that the portion is suitable for 3-4 people but we could take away the left overs.
But as the dish arrived,
The portion looks just right for both of us.
The Elcerdo's one was really huge compared to this.

There were herb potatoes, apple sauce (with tinge of cinnamon taste/smell), their signature sauce (I like it very much) and the purple thing is sweet (don't know what is it called).
I don't really fancy their apple sauce since I am not a fan of cinnamon.
Therefore, anything with cinnamon in it wouldn't be my cup of tea.

The place was filled with people and it became super merry around 7ish.
Coincidentally there were two people celebrating their birthday with friends/family.
Jyun and I were the youngest couple in the room as most of them were adults.

I would say this is a great place to go in a group or with a date.
Thumbs up for their juicy and tender pork knuckles and crispy bacon lollipops.

We still have space for a cup of coffee..
So we dropped by Bangsar Village II for a cup of coffee at Artisan Roast Coffee.

I asked the barista if he could make this for me.
Initially he said he has not create something like this before.
But I really appreciate his effort alongside with other baristas who got together to create this piece for Jyun.
As the baristas gathered to make this happen,
Jyun noticed how much effort they seem to put into their latte art to the extend there were other two baristas joining into creating this piece of art.
I tried to distract Jyun's attention in case he got suspicious and wallah! The managed to make this.
The barista was Ahmad who took my order and he managed to get the other baristas to create this for Jyun.
Thank you, Ahmad!

Happy me with my cup of fav mocha.

And Happy Birthday to my man:)

Flashback.
Smoked duck pasta at Vanilla Place
Ham and mushroom cabonara at Vanilla Place
Salmon Quiche at Dave's

Reunited with my girlfriends after 5 years.
High school girlfriends whom I spent about 4 years with..
One was missing from the picture since she was diagnosed with dengue fever.
It was four of us back then and man we had one heck of a time during our teenage years.
We can still talk about anything and still laugh at the stupidest things.

Remember Didi? We used to spend alot of time as a group together alongside with Mei Shan, Jin, Emily and James.
She got back here for a couple of days during the weekend and I am so glad that I managed to have dinner with her.
I need more girlfriend like her.
Someone down to earth, smart, and funny:)

31 but more than 3 years of adventure, a bountiful of laughter, and god knows how many cups of coffee we had together and the amount of food we indulged ourselves in.
