Goodbye 2012

I'm back!
I know I've been MIA for a bit since I had so much to do..
Anyhoo, it's New Year's eve and or the past few weeks I've been working on my schedule for the year 2013.

It's gonna be an exciting year ahead!

Attended my post internship gathering.
It'll be goodbye for us soon..

Christmas was well spent with my partner and his family.
I shall let the pics below to speak for itself..

Christmas eve brunch
 Mocha
 Big breakfast at Plan B

Christmas..

 Homemade salad by Lisa

Her seafood pasta sauce was absolutely delish and I didn't snap any pics of it cause it was too good and soon before we realized it, the sauce in the pot has been emptied by us:)

I wish I can cook like her..
LOL.
(Should learn how to cook proper meals)
No turkey but this is a great replacement for turkey.
Juicy crispy tender pork.
Homemade chocolate cake and cheese cake for supper

 Our mocha
 Bacon pasta

Our post Christmas celebration and celebrating us:)
At Jarrod & Rawlins, Bangsar.
This time there were less selection of sausages to choose from.
The previous branch that we went to has been shut down unfortunately.
But this place is good too..
At least they still serve yummy sausages:)
Jyun's lamb sausages with red wine and mashed potatoes
My bangers and mash with onion sauce
Happy Jyun with purple Christmas tree

2012 has been a crazy year.
Although the year has been hazy for me since I don't remember what happened.
I know I've had a busy busy busy year.

I started the year working at the kindergarten and in between I was a tutor for the Myanmar refugee kids and I ended the year with my internship at Emmanuel Care Centre as a teacher aide for special needs children.

I realized how much I love teaching children.
I've also learnt what it was super difficult to teach special needs children but teaching them has been really fulfilling.

I've met and worked with people who left such a huge impact in such short time.
I am grateful for the opportunities given to me to develop the skills that I needed.
Mostly, I am really grateful to have a partner who is so very supportive of what I do.
And sometimes when I have doubts he was there to encourage me to be better and keep moving forward.
Thank you, Jyun so very much for sticking with me and being an absolute best friend when I need a friend.
Thank you for the adventure, the many laughter, and being such a great study partner:)
Thank you for being you.

2013 is going to be quite a difficult year with so many big decisions to be made.
So bring it on 2013.
And goodbye 2012, you've taught me a lot but I have a lot more to learn.

Oh boy

I just had such a great day doing something that I like besides work.
But now when I read the e-mail from my supervisor.
I am thinking that..
Oh boy.
Unless I hand in my thesis I will have no proper break..

Something that I bury myself in.
To keep me sane.

My Elephant

Recently Jyun and I went to My Elephant for thai food.
It was near Food Foundry which was also a place which I wanted to go to for a while now but I decided to give My Elephant a try first:)
We didn't expect the crowd since it was a weekday
But at the same time I'm not surprised to see the crowd since the place has alot of good reviews,
And it's lunch hour when we reached the place.

Hence the crowd
But at least we don't need to wait too long to get a seat:)

Instead of having tom yam we decided to try something different instead..

 Deep fried chicken.
So crispy till the very last piece of chicken..
 Red Curry with duck..
Since we had Green Curry a few times when we went for thai food..
We tried red curry instead and there's duck meat in it..
Gosh! I love duck meat..
It has lychee in it too and it does balance the taste..
Soothing for the taste buds
Deep fried fish cakes..
Very flavorful..

 Fragrant brown and jasmine rice.

Twenty Five

Twenty Five.
And we still have our inside jokes kept between us since the day we met:)

Artisan Roast Coffee & Internship

Sometime this week,
I was out with the guys not shopping, but just hanging out this time:)
Well initially it was just Jyun and I at Artisan since we told Baezy that we'll meet him for dinner.
But he surprised us at Artisan since his boss said that he can leave work early that day:D

The many facial expression of Baezy

 Our mocha

It has been a week since I last worked as an intern at ECC.
I miss the kids but did I mention that the end year party was a blast?
Yes it was.
We danced, laughed, and sing.
It was also my last day with the children, singing their theme song, and enjoy their presence.
Now I am left with the amazing memories.
Working with special needs children taught me many things.
It builds my character and it also brings out qualities in me which I didn't thought I'd have.
I had so much fun working with the other interns who happens to be my classmates.
Those lovely ladies are amazing.
I learnt so much from them and I could go on and on about how good they are towards the children.

As for the teachers at ECC,
They welcomed us and made us feel like home.
The parents of the children were really amazing too and extremely supportive.
Although the teachers are really young (despite of what they said about our age gap),
But they are very experienced.
I've learned how to be more creative as I work with them,
How to think critically and be more efficient in my work production since working with children with special needs requires us teachers to be a good problem solver.
I am still learning how to deal and manage certain issues and challenges when I work with special needs children and teenagers.

I've seen the children grow to be more attached to us interns,
I've watched how those children learn and help their peers despite of their shortcomings.
Most of all, I've learnt the meaning of unrequited love.

I love my job.
It was a really fulfilling job.
And I'm looking forward to working with populations with special needs in the future.
Thank you teachers and the lovely ladies who made the experience of my internship a very meaningful and fulfilling one.

I should give Amy/Eric the credit for taking such a beautiful photograph of us.

It has been ages since I stayed up at this hour of the day to work on my assignment.
Since I'm done with my internship,
I have to work on my thesis and internship report.
And right now, I am chasing after my deadline again.
