I'm 60% done with my proposal!!
Woot!

This week has been rather productive.
Managed to find participants for our interview,

Learned interesting stuff about the Zorastrian culture.

Noticed how nice Iranians are.

Learned a little about Buddhism and realized that my parents and relatives had been providing us with misleading information about Buddhism.

Not a surprise when I don't practice the religion when I don't understand the teachings.

And I had Iranian food for the first time in an Iranian restaurant.

(It was yum! Kebabs from Nandos tasted charred).

Since I have an extended break due to some public holiday

(don't know what is it).

I'll be spending Sunday with the bestie! =)

This is my last weekend before the new semester begins.

Jyun and I decided to have brunch at Plan B (Bangsar Village 1)

My ideal brunch.

The smoked sausage is slightly hard but I love my poached eggs.

I am not a fan of beans but I like how the beans tasted like in Plan B.

(the way the beans are cooked = yum)

Jyun's burger with homemade patty.

According to him the patty is soft and he doesn't mind it =)

We both got mocha (our favourite)

Overall it was a satisfying brunch for us =)

I like the place..

I will definitely go back there to try the desserts..

Our brunch lasted us till dinner

(we both skipped dinner and had Snowflake for dinner instead)

And thumbs up for the mocha.

Beats the hot mocha from Starbucks hands down

The year 2012, so far...

9 days into the New Year.

And it has been rather eventful.

New Year's eve..

I had brunch at Levain and packed Subway for dinner,

Managed to skip pathetic bachelor night "party" (I don't know whose wedding is it anyway).

Stayed indoors, avoid the terrible crowd and traffic,

Watched Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother :)

Hung out with these two people..
My bro was checking out his new place,
Since he has to stay nearby his campus so yeah, he's rather busy too..

1st of Jan..

Barbeque gathering with the classmates.

The next day....

My sis, her friend, Jyun and I headed over to Genting..

Jyun and I agenda is to watch Freeze live magic show in Genting..

As for my sis and her friend, they wanted to go there for the rides

The show was AMAZING!

We couldn't snap any photograph during the show,

But we were both STOKED and MESMERIZED!

Throughout the entire show there were alot of wow's and laughter from the audience..

And we sat on the third row from the stage (since Jyun got us the VIP tickets).

It was our first live magic show on stage or on ice...

The performers were BRILLIANT!

Made us wonder how long did they take to rehearse..

Wowness..

And it's full house on the day of the show,

Worth the trip there despite of the insane crowd since it's the public holiday.

Yesh, we got really excited after the show,

So much so we couldn't get proper pics of ourselves after the performance =p

After the show...

We hung out at one of our favourite coffee place,

We passed by outdoors and decided to see how cold is it outside.

It was drizzling that night..

And jeez! It was extremely cold outside,

I can hardly feel my hands after that for a bit..

HAHA!

The Christmas deco were still around..

Then it's back home..

Sis and her friend were playing Chubby Bunny in the bus on the way home..

The next day,

I had to work at the kindergarten.

First day of school for the children,

A handful came in ~~screaming wailing~~ crying REALLY LOUDLY.

I am not sure if "loud" is an understatement..

Cause some of their cries were ear piercing

I swear, I am not exaggerating.

Now I understand why they need a few helpers to help out for a bit..

And I must say..

Children, despite of them being super adorable and funny,

It's not easy to handle them.

But, they can really make you laugh although they make your blood boils most of the time..

The year 2011 has not been a great year but it's alright =)

So here's a few recap of my year.

It's the year where I stopped looking after myself and as a result my body immune system acted out. Hence now I am trying to build up my body immune system. Which also means staying away from junk (not really staying away but trying to cut down on junk)

I drank more coffee this year than before. Which is sinful but pleasurable.

I watched my favourite idol performing live on stage. It's a dream come true. David Archuleta was amazing when he performed live in Kuala Lumpur.

I ventured out to more interesting food places than before thanks to the bestie.

Uni got quite boring and redundant but it's still bearable.

I am in my second year and soon to be a final year student in the upcoming year.

I got busier (I know I know..I am always busy. But this year I got busier somehow.)

I hate weddings more than ever. Since it's the same old thing over and over again.

I learned to get go of a few things. It's not easy but it's good for myself.

I turned 20.

Time flies really fast! Faster than the previous years I guess..

Still trying to figure out what's next. And I am really hoping that I will get a clue of what's next next year.

Had a great Christmas celebration after years of not having a proper Christmas celebration.

Celebrated Thanksgiving for the first time.

Knowing that crowds isn't my thing. Hence I'm not going to any places with a lot of super enthusiastic people waiting to countdown for the New Year or partying all night. Cliche just isn't my thing. So I am going to stay in for a movie night with the best friend, go for a pleasant breakfast and dinner and of course coffee will be involve. And perhaps a few drinks =)

Okay, I can't really think of any more stuff but I am pretty sure there are more to that. The weather is gloriously hot today and I just came back from a good brunch and I am feeling rather lazy to think. Soooooooo, I shall stop here.

My break has been great =D

Spent time with my besties,

Hung out with some friends who got back from abroad..

And shopped =)

I finally got time for girls day out with one of my girlfriend.

And it feels great being able to hang out with someone who speak proper English instead of jumbling their sentences up with Mandarin..

I am still getting use to the Mandarin thingy cause most of my classmates converse in Mandarin which put me in an awkward position most of the time.

But yeah, it feels great hanging out with some of my friends again =)

On Christmas eve...

Jyun took me to a cafe in Bangsar.

It's meant to be a surprise and I must say it's such a pleasant surprise.

Cause the cafe that we went to is so cosy and homey like:)

There's another branch in Pyramid but the Bangsar one is way better than the one in Pyramid

Atmosphere wise I mean

Look at those sexy espresso machine! *drools*

Jyun got himself espresso something..

It's some cappuccino espresso drink.

And I think Jyun likes it...X)

And I got my usual Mocha drink.

The coffee tastes strong..

So it's not really my cup of coffee although it's Mocha which I like

I guess I just need to get use to the coffee beans that they use

Bread was crispy and the vege in it were fresh

The service from that cafe was really good..

The people were real polite and they don't take long to serve you

For dinner,

We went to another restaurant which serves a lot of meat base food and wine..

Great atmosphere but thanks to Jyun being meticulous and such,

He managed to get us the reservation to dine in that restaurant on Christmas eve,

If it's not for him we wouldn't get to dine in that restaurant that evening..

It's a great place to dine,

Absolutely love the atmosphere too.

It's a house turned into a restaurant,

Very European like,

Totally my cup of tea =)

Instead of dining outside,

We dine inside to avoid the crowd and such (Jyun knows that I am not a big fan of crowds)

There's a selection of meaty food to choose from (sausages, bacon, salami, etc)

The ones that I chose for myself was smoked pork sausage and herbs sausage.

I like the smoked pork sausage best, and it's the yummiest sausage that I've ever had.

And the mashed potato tastes buttery..

Almost taste like eating mashed eggs =p

As for Jyun,

He had the Pork Cumberland Sausage..

I can't remember how it tasted like but he likes it =)

On Christmas day..

We hung out at Starbucks after lunch =)

I had my usual dark mocha,

The Starbucks tumbler were a gift from my siblings

In the evening,

I had dinner with Jyun's family,

A proper Christmas dinner..

I never had any of those before,

Mainly it's because my family doesn't celebrate Christmas although it's my favourite season of the year,

And celebrating with my girlfriends back then involves going out for chinese food and drinking (although I like the drinking part the most)

It's also my first time meeting all his family members,

Since his twin sisters were always away when I hung out at his place,

The pictures will speak for itself =)

Food was great..

We had turkey, salmon, lamb pasta, salad, ice-cream cake, etc

(can't really recall what we had)

There were a lot of food and a lot of drinks..XD

Jyun's 3rd sister was the one who took all the pics

(except for the part where she's in the pic)

I got Jyun a new wallet since I know he can do with a new wallet to replace his old one..

He custom made me my very first charm bracelet.

With the right wrist size too

(I have a rather small wrist so it's really hard to get myself a watch and bracelet)

He managed to get my wrist size without making me feel suspicious about it

Last but not least,

Gift from bestie and my lil baby sister ♥

I had one of the best Christmas celebration.

My siblings were away for camp during Christmas so the house has been really quiet

Although I have been out most of the time, but when I got back home it feels weird not having the lil ones around regardless of how loud they both can be.

The damnest thing you can hear from uneducated women who stays home all these while and thinks that a lady's job is to get married ASAP, once they hit 20.

So I attended a wedding dinner just now. The usual dull chinese ones where you get bad singers singing on stage and aunties commenting about how grown up you are and stuff. And I met a few aunties who annoys the hell outta me in the process due to their shallowness..

My aunt: Wow! You look so grown up now and so pretty! It's your turn to get married next!
Mom : She still has 10 years to go.

Exactly! Thanks mom! I don't think I can take any of those "get marry now since you are 20 now" rubbish from my mother.

The only M I am concentrating on is my Masters degree not MARRIAGE!

What is wrong with these aunties who kept going on and on about marriage!? It's not like they have such a happy marriage anyway. Having a husband who drinks, aggressive, and abusive. Wow. What an amazing marriage life no? No thanks. I think life has better things for me.

And another thing about getting interrogating about having a boyfriend is another uncomfortable situation. So what if I have a boyfriend now? That doesn't means that I am settling down now! Jeez! Pushing aside their ego,

To experiment on the stigma among the transgender individuals by dressing up as one of them,

It's not an easy task for most guys but they pull it off well:)

And boy, we had such a great laugh because of them!

The girls are still having fun with their pics..

I've seen some around, men who dresses up as women,

And some of them look so good!

I think these people (the transgenders) deserve some respect.

You see ladies dressing up as guys and nobody say anything about it,

(since they still look good in guys outfit)

So if those men/guys who dress up as a lady/woman,

And they still look good why can't we accept them just like how we accept tomboys?

(Well not everyone are fine with tomboys to be honest, but when girls dresses up as guys people wouldn't stare at them or display any anger towards them)

Double Standards?

This is so true.
Some girls expect their boyfriends or their partner to spend on them and some even go to the extend of treating their boyfriends as a ATM machine.
They speak about double standards and women rights and yet they are the ones who hold on firmly to the double standard thing.
It's so sickening to see girls who keep asking their boyfriends/partner to buy this and that for them and they keep taking and taking and taking.

I don't believe in that.
In fact, I strongly believe that if I want something I'll work for it.
I don't mind my partner spending on me since I don't mind spending on him if I can afford to,
But I don't demand that he should buy me this and that.
It's like buying my affection.
And spending on someone should be a sincere gesture since being a student with no proper job yet and surviving on my allowance every month,
I know how hard it is to save money and have enough money for things that you like.
So yes, when I spend on someone, it always mean that they mean alot to me=)
And unlike some girls I know who keep taking,
I believe in sharing, taking, and giving.

Personally, I know girls who marry their partners just because their partners are capable to be their lifetime ATM machine.
Although my mother usually use that "Ask your boyfriend to get you this and that" or "It's not like he can afford it" against me (yes, it's annoying).
I've learned to ignore her shallow criticism.
Since I know I can earn and save my own cash to get what I want.
Plus I am not a materialistic person.
I like branded items but I can't afford it. Maybe one day I can but not now. So I don't really care =)

And I respect my partner as much as he respects me.
Treating your partner as an ATM machine and showing him affection just because he buys you expensive stuff is just cheap affection.
I don't even treat my parents as an ATM machine since I've been brought up to earn for what I want..

So girls/ladies/women...

Stop going on an on about meeting prince charming and wanting to marry a rich man who can splurge on you.
Unless you love yourself and respect yourself don't sit around and wait for prince charming to buy your diamonds and a Shitty Vuitton bags.
Don't make yourself cheap by dating a rich guy just because he can spend so much on you.
If your partner wants to spend on you why not he just wants to treat you once a while,
But DON'T DEMAND for it.
It's disgusting.
Just because you are born with a vagina or tits that doesn't mean you can be a free loader.

I am proud to admit that, in my current relationship there is a lot of sharing, giving, and also taking.

It still amuses me how some people can immediate fall for another within a few weeks time after their break up or when they meet a new partner-to-be somewhere. It's like they are constantly fishing and looking for a new person to be involve emotionally with.

One moment one may claim that that girl/guy is their forever and they'll don't want to be separated from their current other half then a few months later they go on and say stuff like, "I regretted dating him/her." What load of bullshit forever and I love you can be.

And I finally get the time to do a proper blog update after how long?:)

Been MIA from blogosphere for quite sometime since I've been caught up with uni work. And it's not about time management alright. I know I have pretty good time management but with lecture notes to go through, journal readings, plenty of group discussion from the day I went back to uni after my Raya break, and chasing after datelines (I always get the spelling wrong for datelines..is it supposed to be deadlines? LOL! Again, I might not get it right).

Anyway, it's time for my birthday updates and other updates along the way if I remember what I did for the past few days or last week..X)

First half of the day was..erm..HECTIC.Psychological testing class was draggy as hell!! Gosh! I thought Cognitive and Perception class is draggy enough but Psychological Testing has proven itself worthy to be ranked as the second draggiest lesson ever! Motivation and Emotion & Community Mental Health class wasn't even that bad..for some reason..

Anyhoo after I am done with my workload at uni, Jyun and I head over to Chillis for my birthday celebration.

Dinner at Chillis since I am craving for unhealthy food =)

Been eating healthy for almost a week due to my health condition.

If you are wondering, my immune system has been rebelling.

Hence in order to restore my immune system, I have to stay away from chocolates, coffee, tea, seafood, ice creams and eggs

And because of that, I didn't get my dark chocolate cake for my birthday =(

Lunch/dinner was GOOD!=D

It feels so damn good to have proper food in my stomach after ages!

Since my group member took their time with their proposal (it annoyed me to some extend since we only handed in the assignment 3 minutes before the dateline and all these while I usually always hand in my assignments way ahead of time). So I didn't eat anything for lunch except for two nuggets. Sometimes I don't know how my system works. I can go without food for 12 hours sometimes.

I had strawberry cake for my birthday this year instead of dark chocolate cake which is what I wanted initially until my immune system crashed *sad face*

Gah I miss drinking coffee=(

So I am officially TWENTY/TWENTEEN.

Nope I don't feel a year older..=P

And I am not in denial =)

Last Sunday was fun. Today however, is my last Sunday before I face the new semester for real. I guess most of us are still in a holiday mood even after our one month break and the Raya break might just be a blessing in disguise since it somehow gave us a few days to bid goodbye to our breaks.

I can't sleep. AGAIN!

This is one of those looooooooong nights.

Today the last day of my break. I'll be an official 2nd year, 2nd sem student tomorrow. For the coming week, 2 classes got canceled since there's a forum to attend and one of my lecturer is away for a conference. Yay? But...yes, there's a but there. There'll be replacement class on Saturday. I guess it's not too bad since I don't have class on Friday for the upcoming semester=D And there's only one long day!=D Two long days for the upcoming week (due to the forum).

I've screwed up my biological clock. It has been screwed beyond words and all I can hope is, but not sleeping today, I'll be able to sleep later. God. I hate not being able to sleep. Don't get me wrong. I stayed away from caffeine after dinner since I know what it'll do to me. Guhhhhh..

Yes, I seem to have a lot of problem with my sleeping habits. Even on normal days when I am back to uni.

So am I excited to go back? Yes. Then again, I am also very nervous to go back again. Cause that is my normal reaction.

I've not been updating my blog for quite sometime since I've been enjoying my last few weeks of my break before this. Plus with my ancient camera that I have now I can't take any good photographs with it. ~~I really want a new camera for my birthday~~. Strike that out. Not gonna happen. So any outings that I had or good food that I ate during my break cannot be shared here. Boo?

Nights like this I wish I have a book to keep me company. I do have a book to keep me company but I am rereading House Rules by Jodi Picoult (it's my 5th time reading it=.=). Thank goodness there's a book fair next week since I need new books.

Out of no where I got rashes on my legs and hand. It's not so bad I guess. I hope it's not prawns that I am allergic to. I thought those days where I develop rashes are long gone. =C

Sometimes I wonder why men cheat. So I asked the closest man in my life, Jyun the logic behind that. The reason why I ask him is because I know he can't lie to me since he suck at lying=) More reason for me to adore him^^

L : Is it possible for someone to like two people at the same time?
J : You mean as in like like? Like us?
L : Yeah like like.
J : No it's not possible.
L : Then what about polygamy?
J : I think it's like owning them just like some people like to own more than one car.
L : Like having different flavors every night?
J : If you want to put it like that, sure.

He answered that in a matter of fact way and it makes sense. Not because I want to hear that from him, but it does make sense.

Anyway, Jyun got me this amazing tiramisu cake from a bakery shop nearby his place.

It wasn't too sweet, it has enough chocolaty and coffee taste in it, and it has that lemony taste which I like too. I've been craving for that for ages! Plus the tiramisu cake that I can get at the bakery nearby my place doesn't taste as good as that. Beats the cake that I had for my birthday last year (that's because I had hazelnut cake instead of tiramisu which I wanted but the bakery shop doesn't sell those *insert sad face*).

We were all there rather early. By 6.30pm there were alot of David's fans waiting outside for the concert already. Bumped into Li Wern and her friends, and my pre u classmate=) Jyun got us good seats=D From my place, I can see the whole stage clearly and David=D The concert starts around 8.45pm. We were all waiting for his appearance since 8pm when he finally appeared on stage around 8.45pm.

Before that there was an opening act by Hao Ren (Good person if you translate it to English). At least it was just one opening act unlike the roadshow last time.

After the finals

I am on my semester break!=D Finals ended two days ago and the first thing I did was, I hit the gym with the bestie/boyfriend. Taking out the pent up excess energy through gymming was a good plan. I've been indoors for quite sometime cramming/just being unhealthy and I know I need to move a lil to let the restless energy within me fade away. I am still quite restless but not as much as the other day.

Meet my partner in crime, Jyun who is more than willing to join me to hit the gym after the finals.

After lunch, we went for coffee at Coffee Bean. That seem to be our after exams ritual since semester 2 during my first year *grins*. I got Jyun to like mocha as much as I do or maybe not as much as I do, but he has been drinking more coffee than ever due to my influence =p. Yes, I am proud of it!=D Heh!

Yesterday, I decided to make a simple lunch/brunch for both of us. I miss mashed potatoes. So I made that as my to do list=p

I finally watched Harry Potter and the Deathy Hallows part 2. It was SO GOOD! I cannot decide which part is my favourite part but I am definitely going to watch it again. I am currently reading Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.

3 down, one final paper left for this semester. Sat for the craziest and ~~lousiest~~ paper on Friday. I feel much lighter after that paper. Heeee. Although I have my other paper to sit for this coming Wednesday, but it feels like I am done with everything.

How was your weekend? Mine was good!=) I am supposed to go for the Bon Odori festival but there was a slight change of plan when we can't find any parking spot. I don't mind really cause the plan to go for the festival was a pretty last minute thing. Instead I went for food hunt with my bestie and my mom=) It was all good. Plus it's not too crowded either.

I got my first taste of dark mocha after 2 weeks of being on a coffee diet. It was a rather looooooong 2 weeks. The taste of dark mocha swirling on my tongue and sliding through my throat is so very heavenly. *sighs with satisfaction* And of course who else besides my best friend is there to satisfy my coffee cravings=)

On a different note, it's funny how I read more during exam season. Well compare to how I used to be like 2 years ago, I usually finish reading at least 3 books a week. 3 books a week isn't that bad considering I used to finish reading at least 5-6 books a week back in my high school days regardless of me having to sit for an exam or not. And it's not text book that I am reading but leisure reading. I hate it when my friends come up to me and ask me questions like "Owh. You must be done with your revision to be able to indulge yourself in other reading materials" or "Why are you reading this?" as if I am not supposed to know other things besides the information found in the text book or my notes=.=

Anyhoo, for the past 2 weeks I managed to finish these:

Including Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Yes, I am rereading JK Rowling's books for the god-knows-how-many-times. It's so good. And I have my best friend to discuss the best bits with me to take my mind off other mundane boring stuff=) Rice Mother by Rani Manicka is another good read. Can hardly put down the book once I started reading it and she's a local author. She changed my perception towards local authors, somehow. Or not. Maybe I am a bit bias towards the way she writes. On the other hand, John Grisham's book isn't that good. Rather disappointing. The story ended rather abruptly. I actually went wth at the end of the book=.=

I can't wait to watch Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Part 2. In a couple of days I'll be watching it. OMGIamsoexcitedIcandie.

Restless-ness

I will be sitting for my first paper on Monday. There there, don't you start telling me stuff like, "I am sure you've prepared yourself well for the paper" just to get replies for me like "Oh no..I am still preparing for it." Cause frankly I have no interest in reply any of those comments so keep them to yourself, thankyouverymuch.

In my previous post, I've mentioned about my study break and having a good break from uni before my paper on Monday. But now that I got the luxury of sleeping in and taking my time the next day to think of what to do next, I sort of got restless. I am beginning to think that restless is an understatement since there are still a lot of restrictions but there isn't really any restrictions. Now I don't think I make any sense there. Blargh.!

It's 4am in the morning or slightly after 4am, and I am still awake. Why? Cause I can't sleep of course! Despite of my having an exam on Monday, but I can't feel the exams vibe, YET. Although I am not sure why. ~~I am sick of going through the same thing over and over again just to make sure that I have them embedded in my memory~~. It feels like I am done with my finals since I've been spending the past two days watching Gossip Girls series (credits to Jyun dearest for helping me to download them). And I even managed to finish reading two books (Harry Potter 4th book, I am rereading the series and thanks to Jyun dearest for loaning me the series and a novel by John Grisham which made me cringe at the thought of the abrupt ending). I am currently reading a new book by a local author, Rani Manicka and once I start reading it, I almost cannot put down the book. Again, thanks to Jyun dearest for getting me that book when I didn't expect it=)

For now I am looking forward to David's concert. I am gonna watch him perform live THIS MONTH! Oh goshhhhh!! So looking forward to it! I am about 3 weeks away from watching him performing live on stage!*grins*

As for my coffee diet, it's going on well. I think the last time I had coffee was during the presentation that I did with my group mates to convince others about the benefits of coffee. Although I must say I really miss my coffee.

I have about 2 weeks left before I break my coffee diet.

I really should start reading now or I won't sleep.

Celebrating us

A week off from uni to cram for the finals. Just what I need=) I have a lot in mind that I don't want to think about and being away from uni helps.

Today marks the day since our journey begins. Although we have been taking the same route from the day we met, but today is one of the day to celebrate us=)

He's a person who knows how much I believe in the power of actions instead of the power of words and yet he'll do anything to prove me that he mean what he says despite of the fact that he likes words himself. He might not be my forever, but he's my present which is good enough for me=)

I am not going to go all lovey dovey here, cause that's just not us in public. Well, at least I think so=p

Sometimes

Sometimes you come to a point where you began to lose track of what you want to fulfill at a certain age. Given the boundaries in front of you, controlling parents who are skeptical about your abilities, and things made tougher for you when you are have people who kept pulling you down when you are trying to venture out from your comfort zone. People telling you that you can't do this and that despite of the many possibilities out there. You went about searching for it, but the harder you search for it, the more you lose sight of it. It makes you question about yourself, your perspective, and whether you should just follow the norms and ditch your "big plans" for yourself with all the restrictions given to you.

You have people who ask you to wait for the right time, but the right time never seem to arrive. You have people who ask you to wait, but how long more you should wait. For the longer you wait, the more confuse you get. And being static, isn't pleasant at all. Being static is like having no directions and not knowing is there's something ahead for you to anticipate it. It's living in a shallow dark planet and wondering if you'll ever see the light. You are told that you'll be guided by someone older than you since you don't know better and it's better to choose the safer option by adhering to what have been told to you by the adults which means not allowing your thirst of discovering something when you have the passion for that area. And soon enough, passion fades, replaced by monotony of life.

If it's not for the best friend, my mind wouldn't be on track anymore. It's not being idealistic, but it's having ambition and the thirst for knowledge. The thirst for new experience. I miss having lecturers who will suggest reading materials for you when you are interested in that field and I also miss having lecturers who are more than happy to discuss other issues with you instead of asking you to wait for the semester where you'll learn about that. It makes me wonder if the direction that I am choosing for myself is right for me. Parents thought they know better, but what they don't know is times have changed since their time.

Yes, it's very discouraging. And you consistently have to pick up the pieces and patch it together, move on, and keep searching.

So it has been confirmed by Sony Music Malaysia that David Archuleta will be coming to Malaysia to perform on the 26th of July, which is next month and I have my semester break too! I've been waiting for this announcement to be made. Also waiting for another chance to see David performing live. Even David Archuleta and Stadium Negara is trending on twitter now:

But why am I hesitating whether to go or not to go now? Yes the ticket price may be pricey since I have no job and I am only surviving on my allowance. And unlike some people I don't get much for my monthly expenditure. On the other hand, I am wondering if spending so much just to watch David perform live will worth my savings since I have other things in mind that I want to get my hands on.

Question now is, should I go or not go and just read people's tweets about the concert on the day itself? Ugh.>.<

X-Men First Class

This week has been a pleasant week *grins*. Besides for the fact that I've handed in my final research paper for this semester and I am only left with one more report to work on, two presentations, and one more case study before my finals.

Joined my classmates for a game of badminton on Thursday. I don't play badminton. Usually fool around with the racket or hitting people's asses with it instead of playing it. Jyun gave me a few basic pointers before I practice it and I must say it was a pretty fun game=) I miss playing basketball though.

Since it's still fresh in my mind and I am still rather hyped up over the movie. X Men first class movie is a must watch for those Marvel comics fans/superheroes fan.

Watched that with Jyun, a superhero fan. So I got someone to explain the superheroes powers and teams to me after the movie=)

Bieber look alike. But he is a she with a better voice compared to Beiber. And she makes Bieber looks rather attractive too. LOL! Not being bias. But I like her attitude from her parody..X)

Wives can curb sexual problems like prostitution by being alluring and obedient to husband?!

Those three links are the articles that I read today, blaming the women for not being able to satisfy their husbands sexual drive which results in their husbands taking another wife, cheating on their wives by turning into prostitution, and abusing them. I have no words to describe how frustratingly ridiculous that is. Not only they made Muslim men sounds like a sex maniac/perv, but at the same time, they also seem to encourage men to abuse their wife/wives to "teach them a lesson" when they "disobey" them.

“Wives should welcome them with sexy clothes and alluring smiles when in the privacy of their homes.”

Don't women has a say in it? I am also very surprise that the person who came out with the idea is a woman herself. She even agreed that women should be abused and beaten up by their husband since it's their fault for disobeying their husbands.

Not only that they actually justifies the domestic abuse and prostitution as if it's alright for men to beat their wives and cheat on their wives when they didn't get their sexual needs satisfied. Actually scratch that, they make men sound like they need to be fucked all the time, and the number of sex that they got will never seem to satisfy their drives. Not only it's a humiliation to the men themselves (cause although I know that men has different function, but surely they can keep their dicks to themselves)

Don't they know that women, like any other human beings doesn't only have a role to be a good mother, good cook, good wife, or good provider of sex to satisfy their husbands. Our lives don't revolve around them now! We are living in the 21st century and yet we have women who still thinks that their part in their lives is to satisfy their husband needs *gag* Women shouldn't be treated like an animal. A real men will treat their woman right. Only boy toys treat their ladies as a sex object.

My say about the club is, it's plain stupid. Stupid is an understatement.

It's not the feminist talking, but isn't it obvious that they are not using their brains properly when they come out with such clubs?!

If a man only seek for sex in their woman, then why not pay for sex instead of going around hunting for a "partner" to provide them with it. They make themselves so low and cheap.

He can be so silly sometimes and he's someone that can make me laugh at the little things that he does. He is my part time boyfriend and full time best friend, study partner, and confidant=) Jyun is someone that can say things that you'll not think of. The randomest, silliest, and sometimes lamest things ever, but those are the things that made me laugh most of the times.

The break and Judgement Day?

Today is Judgement Day!*grins*

I'm looking forward to bid goodbye to the month to May and say hello to the month of June although that will mean that my finals days will be drawing nearer and nearer to my door and it will also mean that it'll be the end of my second year semester one. Wow. Time really flies! I am still trying to grasp the whole idea that time is ticking faster than ever.

So yeah, I do not want the world to come to an end today. So God please give me an extension since I have a lot of duties here. ~~I still need to save the world~~

So my break isn't all about catching up with assignments. Maybe for the first few days I am always in front of my laptop typing away. But after I am done with another research paper lit review I can almost feel the burden half lifted up from my shoulders although I am only 50% done with the other research paper which will be due on the 3rd of June (again, another reason why I want an extension to live, God. Not only I love my life, and I am making full use of it. I put in effort in my work and I bet you don't want it go wasted. Actually I don't want to have it go wasted). LOL!

Not like I believe in those 2012 and world will come to an end soon crap. It might come to an end, only if God swipe all all men in the world first. But that will only happen when the Y chromosomes disappear completely from the earth a billion years later and I have like how many years more to live? And if there's no library or books anywhere in the after life world, I don't think I wanna die just yet.X)Unless awesome and incredible authors are there to write and publish a book it'll be uber cool. Damn I shouldn't get carried away with those thoughts those awesome authors will be needed here to inspire others=)

Anyhoo, I had a movie night with Jyun on Wednesday to wind down*grins* We watched Fast Five. It was a pretty spontaneous plan. Anyhoo, it was a good movie. I super love the speed=D

We had our shooting for our video assignment which will be due..erm..I don't know when. Seriously, I don't remember given much of a thought for that subject. Pretty redundant subject cause we are learning the same thing and same terms over and over again. They should offer something cool for our compulsory subject (e.g., web designing, philosophy, anthropology, world history). Again, people will grumble more if they happen to ask us to do deeper stuff like philosophy, anthropology or world history. Only freaks have interest in those apparently. Heh. Sarcasm.

My definition for compulsory subject that they offer: A subject which is meant for you to feel obligated to bother about it and it's pretty much very redundant when comes the stuff that you are going to learn. In short, it's a utter waste of time.

How is it possible that I am working longer hours than usual when I have a break?! (how to spell break again?)

Oh right.

This "break" is meant for me to catch up with the upcoming datelines. For some reason, work kept piling up. I am pretty sure those reviews, quizzes, and take home tutorial work isn't in the outline <-- (denial). I've probably mentioned this before but I am gonna mention it again, I am so swamped with work and the work seem to not come to an end=_____________________________=

It's 2.25am now and I think I've at least sat in front of the laptop researching and typing for at least 12 hours. My grasp of reality = living on dateline schedules. I am not complaining, at least I am trying not to. LOL! I am just a tiny bit exhausted.

Hola!!!

I am back!

I've been super busy lately. Caught up with uni work. I hardly can find time to update my blog. Yes I am that swamped with work. So much so whenever I sat down and try to type a post for my site all I can think of is my work. And I know I wouldn't be able to come out with something interesting if I keep going on and on about my research.

For the past few weeks, I've handed in 2 assignments (or was it 3?). Conducted an experiment to test on brain hemisphere. Got home from campus at around 11.30pm just because my group mates and I havta work on our assignment since it's due the next day. Went for dinner with some of the bird gang. Got caught up in some group conflict, solved it, and moved on. Knew that I can't really rely on some people although they are meant to be treated like an adult. Skip a lot of meals just to work on my tasks, lost 1kg in one week, walked a lot (like A LOT!), met an accident for the first time, got freaked out multiple of times, and knew that I am not built to do last minute work (pictures below will explain everything).

The accident:

- I met an accident when I was on my way back from campus. A taxi driver, for some reason, didn't see the signal that I flashed ages before I switched lane, speed up suddenly and kissed my car's butt. Went to the police station for the first time to lodge a report although I know there's nothing that the police can do and also realized how sucky the police here are. Not only they are rude, but they are not exactly helpful at all. God knows why my parents dragged me to the station that Monday when I already feel super exhausted after one long day at campus. Damn you taxi driver. Since that accident I am wary of all taxi drivers on the road. They don't know how to use the signal apparently. Most of them will appear from no where. But I got home safe. Phew.=)

Group conflicts:

- As usual when you work in a group, you'll have a few of them who play their part as a social loafer. Not that I can force them to do much when the stuff that they do, they don't bother checking before submitting it to you cause they usually assume that the group leader will check everything for them and pick up their shit if their work isn't good enough. I am thinking if they want to flung this semester please don't pull me with them. Hence, I'll havta polish their work for them just so my grades wouldn't be affected. At least I have Kai Li and Chee Boon. Kai Li is super efficient when comes to getting things done and it's so much better to have someone like her to brain storm with. Chee Boon on the other hand, played his part to solve all the technical problems in the group.

At least I am not a last minute person. If I didn't insist that the rest of the group members to hand in their research findings a week before the dateline, the day before the dateline I'll be bawling instead of reorganizing all the research findings.

Most of us were busy working on a particular assignment. Even on the day of the dateline, we were still working on it. Polishing and reorganizing our work.

We went to get our Frappucino from Starbucks before we went for dinner. Since we all need to stay awake longer, especially me, hence I need another doze of caffeine in my system.

I've been drinking a lot of coffee lately. Within one week, I drank at least 6-7 cups of coffee. Depending on whether I took a double doze of caffeine from the one I had the first thing in the morning to keep me going.

My classes had been long. Some are pretty draggy, namely Comm Skills class. It's a class where we all don't find it a point since everything that are being taught to use had been taught to us before so it's really redundant. Then again, our attendance is really important for that class. It's like Malaysian Studies. Crappy subject and an utter waste of time. We had to stayed back for that class TWICE a week. Pfft.

I can't go on a coffee diet when I consistently need to keep myself awake with the help of it. It's like a drug. Or a placebo effect. Maybe I don't need caffeine in my system, but if I don't consume it, I can't function properly. Oh no. I sound like someone with a coffee addiction. Darn it.

I also did my experiment. Managed to complete it within 2 days*grins*

Jyun gave me a book=) He managed to get his friend from UK to hunt for the book for it. I can't find it here and I know that the bookstore in the UK should have it. Jyun surprised me with the book by placing it on my lap yesterday *grins*. Thank you so so sooooooo much, Jyun=D

Runa's 21st birthday party was awesomely fun!=)

We were almost the last bunch to leave her place. And Runa has such cool dad who is Indian but he can speak Hokkien better than me (actually I don't speak Hokkien, HAHA!)

I am currently working on one of my assignment which is to search for the brain model/theories. Reading the journals of Neuropsychology is dreadfully confusing. Not only I don't understand most of the stuff that is written in the journal but the models the oh-so-ever-intelligent-beings proposed there are just plain confusing instead of mind boggling. I haven't even learn most of the terms being use there. They even have those algorithm equations to explain the model and a person like me who swears off Physics after she got out from high school almost had her eye balls falling off from her eye socket going through them. Not exaggerating. So yeah, it's a rather frustrating research to work on since most of the stuff that I came across confuses me and in return it makes me feel ~~incapable~~ ~~like not doing the thing~~ get over it as soon as possible. But there are stuff that I understand since I've had lesson based on them already but there are still terms that I am not familiar with and am still getting to get myself to get use to those.

I even had Punjabi lesson with one of my Pakistani classmate. She's a Punjabi herself and one of our assignment requires us to teach one of our classmate a skill. Hence, I'll be teaching her how to speak Bahasa Melayu and she'll be teaching me how to speak Punjabi=) Pretty cool eh?

During our tutorial lesson for our Education and Learning class, we were asked to design a computer lab with the materials given by our lecturers. My group and I designed a computer lab for children and the outcome is pretty satisfying.

This week has actually been eventful in terms of the stuff that I've learnt. The upcoming week will be hectic. I can't wait for my brain dissection lesson=) ~~Gonna make brain patty out of the brain that we dissected.~~

I even managed to get the book by Jodi Picoult this week, Sing You Home. If it's not because of Jyun I'll be walking out from the bookstore feeling disappointed. I even managed to finish reading the book since I stayed up on Friday night to read it. It's an incredibly good read. A must read book for Jodi Picoult's fans. I can't even bring myself to put down the book once I read it. That explains how I managed to finish reading whole book in 2 days. Ellen Degeneres interviewed Jodi Picoult about her latest novel and she said she wanted to make a movie out of it!

There's this part in the book Picoult describe how a lesbian relationship can be like a heterosexual relationship be. I don't wanna spoil it for you readers who is planning to read that book. I am still having a hangover due to that book. The Slap that I managed to finish reading somewhere this week seem to be buried way behind my head right now. But The Slap is another good read for those of you who enjoys reading book that contains a diverse social issue. Again, it's because of Jyun I get to read these books without needing to wait for a couple of months more. *grins*

A good book does make the week more interesting actually^^

Second Year

I am officially a second year Psychology student!

My new semester begins on Monday and predictably, we all got busy by the first day of the week. By the third day of my class, I have 11 assignments in line pending. I have such crazy and long week. So much so, Monday seemed to be so far away from Friday. I like Friday best so far. Not only I only have to go for tutorials, but class ends early which means I have the rest of the day to myself. Only problem is I have to drive all the way to campus for that one hour class=_______=

Thursdays are the worse. Since my tutorial begins at 11am which means I'll have to wait for approximately 5 hours before that since I havta drag myself to campus early due to the scarce space for parking. Sigh.

My longest day of the week are Tuesdays and Wednesdays since classes ends at 5.30pm on Tuesdays and 3.30pm on Wednesdays. And by the time I get myself back home, I'll havta go through the traffic. And usually I'll get back home feeling incredibly exhausted. My classes on Monday are equally long too. As much as I am trying to avoid the word exhaustion, but I can't help it since I've been rather sleep deprived for the past 3 days, or was it 4. Somehow when I sleep I tend to still think of things. And that makes me feel like I hardly slept at all.

But don't get me wrong there. I am coping fine. Only thing is I have a lot to organize and prioritize. Even my conversation with Jyun seemed to revolve a lot about work these days or we might just be sitting next to each other not talking much since we were both working on our tasks.

Hence, year two semester one begins. It's gonna be a rather long journey I reckon.

It has been a rather eventful week I think. We celebrated, Runa', Yvonne's and Clarissa's 21st birthday on Monday at TGIF and there'll be another gathering at Runa's place tomorrow. A couple of group discussion or a few of them. And we did a few assessments during our tutorial and being taught how to use some tools (yeah pretty "eventful" indeed). Yawn. I am already yawning as I typed this out despite of the 4 hours nap I had this noon (super satisfying nap).

Jyun gave me this awesome book, The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas. I've been eyeing on that book for ages already and he bought that for me recently! *grins* That dude sure know how to surprise me=) It's a good read. Although I am only half way through the book, but I am savoring every bit of the story line.

Also, Jodi Picoult has a new book. This book is her support for gay rights and it's a must read book my list.

Despite the fact that I only have the time before bedtime to do my leisure reading or sometimes in the morning before I go for my lecture classes but that will not stop me from my leisure reading moments. Right now I am craving for more leisure reading hours but sighhhh..oh well..I shall stop ranting now.

Rants 101

I've not rant for ages! And I feel like ranting=)

So bear with me*smiles*

So today is my first time visiting the graveyard for the Qing Ming season. And my my, I must say the Chinese has such weird tradition that they practice till today. Not only I find the tradition very sexist and very degrading to the women race, but I find it a waste of resource and it pollutes the air. To think today is earth day. There they go burning paper phones, clothes, and some even burn Iphone 4 for their ancestors. It's fine if you want to pay your respect to your ancestors but those unnecessary open burnings will only kill mother nature. My bestie's sis once suggested them to burn their phone numbers so that their ancestors can call them back from their after life. Like why not right? Since they are burning cars, houses, passport, and money for them.

So there's this ceremony where the males in the family have to throw some colour papers on the grave and I also notice that no females are allowed to do so. And mom said something like this to me :

Mom: Only the males in the family are allowed to do so.

Which I replied:

Me : Why? Because they are the sperm donors and we only have ovaries?

Mom : Shhhhhh! You are not supposed to say that here!!

Owh so, as a female we are not supposed to voice out our opinions in family functions like that eh? As a token of "respect" to them. Do they even deserve out respect anyway? They didn't even acknowledge the existence and the vital role of the women folks in the family. Which brings me to the part where one of my relative who looked joyfully at brother and read his palm and then mentioned something about him having good luck in life or something. In which my mom replied:

Mom : Well my daughters are doing well too.

Old man : *Dismiss my mother* Ah! Daughters are not important. I am asking about your son! How many sons you have?

Mom : One *pointed at my brother*

Old Man : Only one!? Then you have two daughters!? What a waste!

Mom : Well it's the same for daughters.

So daughters are not important eh? I doubt your male grandchildren are doing as well as the females anyway. Look at the men in the family. How many of them grow up to be real men who doesn't drink and respect their wives? Most of them ended up two timing their wives or find an easy way out by using the money that you earn instead of working.

I asked my mom where did he come from anyway? Cause in my mind I really thought he came from his dad's anus (which resulted him to having crap as his brain, or having a skull filled with air). My mom shush me up since I am not allowed to question stuff like that. Again, she plea ignorance and submission since we as a women don't really have a say in the family. Maybe my mom don't want to cause any complication since it's not like those uncivilized traditional thinking old folks will get what I am trying to convey anyway.

But then again, there is no reason for him to degrade women just like that since the women folks are the ones who contributed so much to the family and most of the younger generations they are the ones who are the breadwinner of the family and the ones who managed to complete their education.

I hope to God that men like this will learn to treat women equally before they are on their death bed. Which reminds me of the video that I watched last night. So this leader from a political party were going on and on about women who don't know how to look after themselves well (for instance, covering themselves properly from head to toe), deserved to be rape since they are the ones who causes men to get out of control (as in not being able to keep their dicks to themselves). In other words, that conniving old man, were defending the rapist out there by blaming it on the victim for looking too good to the men's eyes. I can't finish watching the video anyway since everything that came out from his shit gap were pure nonsense and he's a disgrace to mankind. Actually strike that out, he's a disgrace to all men out there. Just because men cannot control their desires that doesn't give them the rights to force themselves into any women who appeared to be attractive to their eyes. Even dogs know how to pick their mates=.=

What I can't stand most is when these, wait. I am thinking of a word to address such..urhmm..creatures? Anyway, such species on earth used God's name in vain to defend their lust and to get women to submit to the stuff that they want women to do for them making God look bad.*shakes head*

Oh well, we shall see what other stuff that these uncivilized creatures can come out with. And regardless of how old they are, I have no respect for men who can't treat women right. Even my dad with a traditional mind set treats my mom like a queen. He'll be damned if he doesn't treat the women right. I know of real men who know how to treat women equally. Although there are many exceptional cases, but really, having something sticking out from below doesn't make males more powerful due to their "weapon" or useful if they don't know how to put their brains in use and look at things at a various perspective.

The moon is shooo incredibly pretty today!!!

Went over to the British Council fair with Jyun today, and there's this obnoxious woman at the fair (local) who not only talk to us rudely when we wanted to enquire about some course that we are interested in pursuing in our Postgraduate study later, but she doesn't bloody know what is Developmental Psychology. For someone who is a representative from a supposedly prestigious university from the UK, she doesn't even know the different fields that we as a Psychology student can major in after our Undergraduate degree study. She even asked me to explain to her what is Developmental Psychology and that surprised me a whole lot more since a non-psychology student know very well about that field of study. And so I havta explain the field of study to her in my very own words although I wanted to leave that booth ASAP once she asked me what is the field about. Moron.

She was also very rude to us when we wanted to know more about the course too. Since we are both students and we weren't with our parents (most students who went to the fair were there with their parents) so she thinks we don't know better or something so she spoke to us rudely with a hint of contempt in her tone. Anyhoo, we ditched the brochure she gave us about the university aside after that since the university doesn't offer any course of our interest.

Anyway, bestie wrote an article about people who are born without emotions and psychopaths. That got me thinking. If only I am back to uni now, I can ask my lecturers about it. I'll be back for my second year soon anyway=)

So yeah, there are a lot to thing about..

This week is all about chilling and having fun. I've been hanging out at the malls a lot lately and I am sick of the malls already. Boo! It's because of my lil sis the other day, I was at the same mall throughout the day. At least Jyun was with me to keep me company and I got my first dark mocha from him!!!!=)

He seemed to enjoy the drink as much as I do=) Heh! Since it tastes like chocolate (Jyun's fav).

Although being in this field means there are a lot of different route to take. And sometimes I can be in the wrong route since the field is sooooooooo broad. There are a few things that interest me. And that makes it hard for me to decide which field to major in later. Then again, I have no regrets being in this route. I can't see myself doing a different course right now. Although before this, being a lawyer seemed like a pretty ideal job. Someone told me today that it's gonna be a challenging road to take. It takes not only guts to deviate from the norm but it also takes a whole load of faith in oneself to take this path. Cause when you deviate from the norm you get the unnecessary remarks from the people around you, mainly to discourage you from pursuing your passion, then again, faith keeps your mind on the path you'll be taking for the rest of your life.

I've watched :

The King's Speech and Black Swan with Jyun.

The King's Speech is an awesome movie. When I first heard about the movie from my brother, I knew immediately it'll be Jyun's type of movie. So it's a must watch movie in the list with Jyun^^

Black Swan on the other hand, is a pretty dark and a rather disturbing movie. Jyun's reaction towards it by the end of the movie was priceless=p It was alright though. I don't mind watching it again *smiles*

Life as We Know it. Watched it alone since I got that movie from one of my friend (can't remember who gave it to me). Wouldn't say it's a nice movie. But it's alright.

I love cold lazy afternoons where I can stay indoors and watch movies. I've been out a lot since the finals. And waking up early in the morning for 3 days in a row can be really draining. Decided to stay in for a couple of days to recharge and get back the sleep that I've been deprived of for a week.

It was fun working as a student ambassador, although I talked shit most of the time while I was working..XDDDD So it was Jia Hui, Melissa, Sharon, Su Yin, and Khai Lee there. I didn't know so much about that bunch not till I worked with them. I even met Jia Hui's mom in person, joined her and Melissa to talk shit and laughed so much at the crap those bunch managed to conjure.

It's scary reading about the stuff that is happening at the world right now. Praying helps. But it doesn't stop me from thinking about what's next after this. No. The world will not come to an end by 2012. I refuse to believe in that crap.

I saw this incredible looking watch the other day. Owh mannnnn..I want to own that watch.
